City of Gods and Vampire Ball bring two Halloween raves to Industry City
House of Yes and Industry City host City of Gods on Oct. 23 and 24 and the 10-stage Vampire Ball on Oct. 30 and 31.
House of Yes is teaming up with Industry City for two Halloween raves in Brooklyn, each spread over several rooms. City of Gods comes first, on Friday, Oct. 23, and Saturday, Oct. 24. Vampire Ball follows on Friday, Oct. 30, and Saturday, Oct. 31.
City of Gods at Industry City, Oct. 23 and 24
Now in its eighth edition, City of Gods sends guests from room to room, from the Lost Paradise stage to the Kostume Kult. Nobody knows the music lineup until the night begins, so part of the fun is finding out who is playing along the way. Dragon floats wind through the crowd. Many of the stages are hosted by people from Burning Man sound camps, and money from ticket sales is donated to the camp organizations taking part.
The look of the event comes from artists Alex and Allyson Grey, and a light show fills the courtyard. Guests can also wander into the Healing Gardens, a Cabaret Speakeasy, the Elixirs of Bliss, the Chapel of Sacred Mirrors and the Dungeons of Deviance.
Vampire Ball on Halloween weekend
Over Halloween weekend, Vampire Ball takes over Industry City with 10 stages. The centerpiece is what organizers call a “Blood Rave.” Elsewhere, guests will find dungeons and interactive art, burlesque performers on a cabaret stage and a bar pouring cursed potions, and organizers say they are holding back other surprises for the night. Big lineups are planned for both nights, with sounds ranging from techno and reggaeton to UK garage, hyperpop, house and rock.
Vampire Ball admits only guests 21 and older with valid ID, the event says on its FAQ page. Vampire Ball does not allow re-entry, so leaving the venue means guests cannot come back in, the event says on its FAQ page.
