Where to enter and mobile tickets

Madison Square Garden asks guests to arrive early. Your ticket shows a suggested entrance based on your seat location, and the event page links an entrance map.

Madison Square Garden uses digital tickets. Download them and add them to your phone’s digital wallet before you arrive. One phone can show more than one ticket. For events the venue marks as device free, tickets are printed at home instead, and the venue says the event detail page confirms whether an event is device free. Tickets can be transferred through Ticketmaster. For ticket help, call Guest Relations at 212-465-6225, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. On event days, those hours are extended from one hour before show time to the start of the final show.

Bag policy and what you can bring

Bags do not have to be clear, but they must fit comfortably under your seat. Oversized bags larger than 22 by 14 by 9 inches are prohibited, and the Garden has no area to check bags, coats or other belongings.

  • Not allowed: video cameras, monopods, tripods, selfie sticks, audio recording devices and professional cameras with telephoto or zoom lenses.
  • Outside food and drinks are not permitted.
  • Strollers are allowed only if they fold and fit under your seat.

For entrances, doors and the full prohibited items list in one place, see our Madison Square Garden guide.

Buses, ferry, NJ Transit and LIRR

The M4, M10, M16, M34 and Q32 buses stop at Seventh Avenue and Penn Station.

From New Jersey, NY Waterway ferries run from Weehawken, Hoboken, Jersey City and Belford to Midtown at West 39th Street, where a free NY Waterway shuttle goes to the Garden. The venue’s directions page links the ferry, NJ Transit and LIRR schedules.

Driving, parking and drop-off

There is no official rideshare zone at the Garden. Drivers can drop off and pick up along Seventh Avenue or Eighth Avenue between 31st and 34th streets.

The directions page links an official parking app for nearby garages and lots. Guests with a New York City Special Parking Permit may park on the streets and avenues around the venue under the rules on the permit. New York City does not honor blue disability hangtags or license plates from New York State, New Jersey, Connecticut or anywhere else for on-street parking, and the Department of Transportation may ticket or tow those vehicles. Some indoor lots cannot take raised-roof vans, so call the lot first.

Accessibility and step-free routes from Penn Station

Guests arriving at the West End Concourse (Tracks 5-31) can use two elevator routes. From the train platform, take an elevator to the main level. Then take Elevator PW-9, opposite the Track 17 stairs, to 33rd Street and Eighth Avenue and enter through the 8 Penn Entrance. Or take Elevator PW-3, opposite the Track 5 and 6 stairs, to 31st Street and Eighth Avenue.

The Accessibility Services Department is at 888-609-7599, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., according to the event page.

What to know before you go

The Garden takes credit and debit cards and mobile payment, including Google Pay and Apple Pay. If you only have cash, reverse ATMs inside the venue load it onto a debit card. Food options include Mighty Quinn’s BBQ, Fuku and Paulie Gee’s Pizza. Water fountains are near sections 101, 103, 111, 114, 117, 208, 217 and 221.
