A nor’easter heading for New York has wiped out this weekend’s biggest outdoor plans, from the Global Citizen Festival in Central Park to All Things Go in Forest Hills. Several Brooklyn street fairs and the Ragamuffin Parade now have new dates next weekend.

The five boroughs, along with Westchester, Nassau and Suffolk counties, are now under a state of emergency that Gov. Kathy Hochul ordered on Friday afternoon. A citywide travel advisory took effect at 2 p.m. Friday, and city officials asked people to stay inside and skip trips that are not necessary.

Global Citizen and All Things Go canceled: how refunds work

Global Citizen called off its Saturday, Sept. 26 show on the Great Lawn after talks with the city and NYC Parks. Organizers said the forecast conditions made it unsafe to bring tens of thousands of fans, artists and crew onto the lawn, along with all the equipment. They said it is their first cancellation in 14 years. “Safety has to come first,” the organization said. Anyone who bought tickets gets an automatic refund, and people who donated to earn tickets will get an email explaining their refund options. Food meant for the festival will go to local organizations, and organizers said the event will return next year.

All Things Go, planned for Friday through Sunday at Forest Hills Stadium, was scrapped hours before gates were set to open at 2 p.m. Friday. Fans who bought through AXS online or by phone will get the money back on the card they used within 30 business days. Everyone else can collect a refund where they bought tickets. Greenpoint loses two shows as well: organizers at Under the K Bridge Park pulled both Friday’s Prodigy concert and Saturday’s CBGB Festival.

New dates for Brooklyn street fairs and the Ragamuffin Parade

The 60th Ragamuffin Parade in Bay Ridge normally goes ahead rain or shine. This year it will step off at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 3. Council Member Kayla Santosuosso worked with organizers to find the new date and thanked the NYPD for agreeing to it.

Other Brooklyn events have also moved:

  • Third Avenue Festival: moved from Sept. 27 to Sunday, Oct. 4, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with shopping, rides and food.
  • Super Stoop, Park Slope: moved from Sept. 26 to Saturday, Oct. 3. Donna Stein, who leads the neighborhood’s civic council, expects most of the roughly 500 participating locations to take part, and the long-range forecast for the makeup day looks warm and sunny.
  • Atlantic Antic: moved from this Sunday to Sunday, Oct. 4, noon to 6 p.m.
