Barclays Center is in Brooklyn, directly above the Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr subway station, where the 2, 3, 4, 5, B, D, N, Q and R trains stop. Its Main Atrium Entrance is at the corner of Flatbush Avenue and Atlantic Avenue. The rule to know before leaving home: bags larger than 10 by 6 by 2 inches, and any hard-sided bag, are not allowed. The arena also has a no re-entry policy.

How to get to Barclays Center by subway

Barclays Center is next to one of the largest transit hubs in New York. The 2, 3, 4, 5, B, D, N, Q and R trains all stop at Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr, directly below the arena. After leaving the train, follow the signs inside the station to Barclays Center.

Two other stations are within a short walk:

  • G train to Fulton St: the station is at Fulton Street and Lafayette Avenue. Exit and walk two blocks south to the arena.
  • C train to Lafayette Av: exit and walk west toward Fort Greene Place, then turn left to reach the arena. This station is not accessible.

The arena points riders to the MTA Trip Planner for step-by-step directions. Service changes and delays can affect any line on event nights, so check live subway status before heading out. For fares and paying with tap-and-ride, see the How2NewYork transport guide. Full venue directions are on the Barclays Center public transportation page.

Taking the LIRR and buses to Barclays Center

The Long Island Rail Road’s Atlantic Terminal station is across the street from the arena. After leaving the train, follow the signs to Barclays Center. The stop is in LIRR Zone 1. Trains run to and from Jamaica Station every 8 minutes at peak hours and every 20 minutes off-peak.

The B25, B26, B37, B38, B41, B45, B52, B63, B65, B67 and B103 buses all stop near the arena. Exact stop locations are listed on the Brooklyn bus schedules and the Brooklyn bus map.

Driving and parking

SpotHero, a parking reservations app, is an official partner of Barclays Center. The arena’s parking page lets drivers pick the event they are attending and reserve a spot in advance.

Barclays Center entrances

The arena lists seven entrances on its entrances page:

  • Main Atrium Entrance: corner of Flatbush Avenue and Atlantic Avenue. CLEAR members can use a dedicated lane for expedited entry.
  • Event Level VIP Entrance: northwest corner of the arena on Atlantic Avenue.
  • Crown Entrance: northwest corner on Atlantic Avenue, just past the VIP entrance.
  • American Express Card Member Entrance: on Atlantic Avenue.
  • Lyft Atlantic Entrance: northeast corner of the arena on Atlantic Avenue.
  • Dean Entrance: southeast corner of the arena on Dean Street. Nets Level members can use a dedicated lane for expedited entry.
  • Flatbush Entrance: temporarily closed. Guests should use the Main Atrium Entrance or the Dean Entrance instead.

Riders coming up from the subway station below the arena can follow the station signs toward Barclays Center.

Barclays Center bag policy

Bags larger than 10 by 6 by 2 inches are not permitted, and neither are hard-sided bags of any size. A small soft clutch or pouch within that size is the safe choice.

Because Barclays Center has a no re-entry policy, guests who arrive with an oversized bag cannot step out to drop it off and come back in. The arena’s pages in this guide do not mention a bag check, so plan to leave larger bags at home.

Prohibited items at Barclays Center

The arena publishes a partial list of banned items and says management can prohibit other items as needed. A production can also ban items for its own event. Among the items not allowed inside:

  • Weapons of any kind, including mace, pepper spray, knives, sharp objects, bats, clubs and tasers
  • Cans (including aerosols), bottles, boxed liquids, and metal, glass or other insulated containers
  • Professional camera equipment, such as detachable lenses, lenses longer than 3 inches, external flashes, monopods, bipods and tripods
  • Audio and video recording devices, laser pointers and flashlights
  • Alcohol, illegal drugs, fireworks, fire starters and lighters
  • Frisbees and other projectiles, balloons, beach balls and other inflatables
  • Signs, flags and banners larger than 11 by 17 inches, any sign on a pole, and signs made of wood, metal, plastic or other hard material
  • Signs, posters or clothing with offensive language or symbols, and unapproved pamphlets or handouts
  • Pets other than service animals
  • Selfie sticks and poles, coolers of any size including soft-sided ones, and pointed-tip or large umbrellas
  • Noisemakers, air horns, bells, bullhorns and whistles
  • Items meant to create optical illusions, such as pinwheels
  • Drones, skateboards and rollerblades
  • Flowers, unless the tour production allows them

Guests without shoes or shirts will not be admitted. Prescription medication is allowed in its original container, as long as the guest shows identification that matches the name on the container. The full list is on the Barclays Center prohibited items page.

Food, drink and water bottles

Outside food and beverages are not allowed. The arena makes exceptions for guests with medical requirements or special needs. Guests with dietary needs tied to a medical condition or special need should contact Guest Services before the event, at 917-618-6111 or guestservices@barclayscenter.com, to arrange reasonable accommodations.

For certain sporting events, reusable water bottles of 24 ounces or smaller are allowed. Glass is never allowed. At other events, the general ban on bottles and insulated containers applies.

Doors, tickets and entry

Door times are set event by event. The Barclays Center pages used for this guide do not list a standard opening time, so check the event’s listing on the Barclays Center website and the ticket itself for when doors open.

Expedited lanes are available for CLEAR members at the Main Atrium Entrance and for Nets Level members at the Dean Entrance. American Express card members have their own entrance on Atlantic Avenue.

Remember that Barclays Center has a no re-entry policy.

Accessibility and getting help

Of the stations near the arena, the Barclays Center directions single out the Lafayette Av station on the C line as not accessible. Guests who need step-free routes can use the MTA Trip Planner to check station access before setting out. Service animals are permitted inside; other pets are not.

For questions about accommodations, the arena’s Guest Services team can be reached at 917-618-6111 or guestservices@barclayscenter.com. Heading to an event in Manhattan instead? See the How2NewYork guide to getting to Madison Square Garden.
